1. General

 

These Terms & Conditions govern the services provided by Grit2Gloss (“we”, “us”, “our”), a mobile vehicle detailing and ceramic coating specialist based in Seaton Delaval, United Kingdom.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Grit2gloss.

By booking our services, you agree to the following terms.

Grit2gloss reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions without prior notice.

2. Bookings & Deposits

​

A booking is confirmed once agreed by both parties.

​

Ceramic coating, paint enhancement and other premium services may require a non-refundable deposit of 30% to secure the appointment.

​

Deposits are fully refundable if the booking is cancelled with at least 7 days notice.

​

Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled appointment may result in the loss of the deposit, as the appointment slot may be difficult to reallocate at short notice.

​

Deposits may be transferred to an alternative appointment date at the discretion of Grit2gloss.
 

3. Payment Terms

​

Payment is due immediately upon completion of the agreed work unless otherwise agreed in writting.

 

Commercial and dealership customers may be offered alternative payment terms by prior agreement

 

Grit2gloss reserves the right to charge interest and recovery costs on overdue invoices where applicable.
 

4. Vehicle & Equipment Condition

​

Customers are responsible for ensuring that any known defects, damage, faults or areas of concern are brought to the attention of Grit2gloss before work begins.

​

Grit2gloss will not be held responsible for pre-existing damage, including but not limited to scratches, stone chips, dents, paint defects, failing lacquer, damaged trim, cracked plastics, worn materials or previous repair work.

​

Where defects are identified before or during the service, these may be photographed and recorded for reference.

​

While every effort is made to improve the appearance of a vehicle or piece of equipment safely, no guarantee is given that all defects can be removed without compromising the integrity of the surface being worked on.

5. Agricultural, Commercial & Specialist Equipment

 

Grit2gloss provides cleaning and detailing services only and does not undertake mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or engineering inspections.

 

Customers are responsible for ensuring that equipment is safe to work on and that any known defects, faults or operational issues are disclosed prior to work commencing.

 

Grit2gloss accepts no responsibility for pre-existing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or structural defects indentified before, during or after cleaning.

 

While every effort is made to avoid sensitive areas, Grit2gloss cannot be held liable for failures of components, electrical systems, sensors, wiring, decals, paintwork, seals or fittings that are already damaged, worn, deteriorated or improperly repaired.

 

Customers are responsible for ensuring machinery is safely isolated, secured and made available for cleaning in a suitable condition.

 

Where required, Grit2gloss reserves the right to refuse work on equipment considered unsafe, excessively damaged or unsuitable for the agreed service.
 

6. Weather & Mobile Working Conditions

​

As a mobile service provider, Grit2gloss may be affected by weather conditions beyond its control.

​

Grit2gloss reserves the right to postpone, reschedule or modify services where adverse weather conditions may compromise safety, service quality, product performance or equipment operation.

​

This includes, but is not limited to;

  • Heavy rain

  • High winds

  • Extreme temperatures

  • Frost, snow or ice

  • Electrical safety concerns

  • Conditions unsuitable for the application of protective coatings

Where possible, alternative arrangements or dates will be offered.

​

Customers will be notified as soon as reasonably practicable if an appointment needs to be rescheduled due to weather or site conditions.

​

Grit2gloss will not be held liable for delays or rescheduling caused by circumstances outside of its reasonable control.

​

7. Ceramic Coatings, Paint Enhancement & Correction

​

Ceramic coatings, paint enhancement and paint correction services are designed to improve and protect vehicle surfaces but do not make a vehicle immune to scratches, stone chips, swirl marks, environmental contamination or accidental damage.

​

The longevity and performance of any ceramic coating is dependent upon ongoing maintenance, washing methods, enviromental conditions and vehicle usage.

​

Any durability or longevity figures quoted by Grit2gloss are based on manufacturer guidance and reasonable maintenance practices. Actual performance may vary between vehicles and users.

​

Paint enhancement and correction services are undertaken using safe detailing practices. While every effort is made to improve paintwork, complete defect removal cannot be guaranteed. Some defects may remain where their removal would compromise paint thickness or the integrity of the finish.

​

Grit2gloss accepts no responsibility for defects, damage or deterioration caused by improper maintenance, automated car washes, enviromental contamination, road debris, accidents, neglect or third-party work carried out after the service has been completed.

​

Customers are encouraged to follow any aftercare guidance provided to maximise the performance and longevity of coatings and protective treatments.

​

8. Photography & Marketing

​

Grit2gloss may photograph vehicles, machinery and equipment before, during and after the completion of services for quality control, training, portfolio, website, social media and marketing purposes.

 

Photographs will be focused on the work carried out and reasonable care will be taken to aviod displaying personal information, registration details, addresses or other sensitive information where possible.

 

Customers who do not wish their vehicle, machinery or equipment to be photographed or used for marketing purposes must notify Grit2gloss before work commences.

 

Where confidentiality has been specifically requested or agreed, Grit2gloss will respect such requests and will not publish photographs without permission.

 

Grit2gloss reserves the right to use non-identifiable images of completed work for promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
 

9. Limitation of Liability

 

Grit2gloss will exercise all reasonable care, skill and attention when carrying out services.

 

Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.

 

Grit2gloss shall not be held responsible for;

  • Pre-existing damage, defects or wear.

  • Failure of components due to age, deterioration or previous repair.

  • Mechanical, electrical or hydraulic faults not caused directly by the services provided.

  • Losses resulting from customer misuse, neglect or failure to follow aftercare guidance.

  • Indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including loss of earnings, loss of business or loss of use.

 

In the unlikely event that Grit2gloss is found liable for and loss or damage arising directly from the services provided, liability shall be limited to the value of the service supplied or the amount covered by Grit2gloss insurance policy, whichever is lower.

 

Customers are encouraged to report any concerns as soon as reasonably possible following completion of the service.

 

10. Customer Responsibilities

 

Customers are responsible​ for providing safe and reasonable access to the vehicle, machinery or equipment to be serviced.

​

Customers must ensure that all personal belongings, valuables and sensitive items are removed from the vehicle prior to the appointment. Grit2gloss accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal items left within the vehicle.

​

Where water, power or other site facilities have been agreed as part of the booking, customers are responsible for ensuring these are available at the agreed time.

​

For Agricultural, commercial and specialist equipment, customers are responsible for ensuring machinery is safely parked, isolated and made available in a condition suitable for cleaning.

​

Grit2gloss reserves the right to refuse or postpone work where access, safety or site conditions are deemed unsuitable.

11. Complaints & Concerns

​

Grit2gloss takes pride in delivering a professional and high-quality service. In the unlikely event that a customer is dissatisfied, any concerns should be raised as soon as reasonably possible following completion of the service.

​

Customers agree to provide Grit2gloss with a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate rectify any issues before seeking third-party repairs, services or compensation.

​

Any complaint must be supported with relevant information and, where possible, photographs or the area concerned.

​

Grit2gloss will investigate all concerns fairly and professionally and will work with customers to reach a reasonable resolution where appropriate.

​

12. Acceptance of Terms

​

By booking a service with Grit2gloss, the customer acknowledged that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

​

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Grit2gloss unless otherwise agreed in writing.

​

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

​

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
